And unlike other recent updates, this one has no Adobe Security Bulletin associated with it, so not technically a "security" update, although among its changes are underlying Java library upgrades that are security-related. Mostly the update is about those library upgrades and many bug fixes. To quote the technote, the update "includes extensive OEM library upgrades, enhancements to Query-of-Queries, query metadata handling, and the spread operator, along with fixes across ColdFusion Administrator, SFTP, Solr, MongoDB, SendGrid, scheduled tasks, GraphQL, Redis configuration, and other core and package functionality."

Most important (and not clear from the technote), many of those changes are in fact the same ones that had been rolled into CF2025's update 8 back in June--which was itself an update to ONLY that version of CF. (While that update also added AI and many other changes to CF2025, this update does NOT add all those things to CF2023.)

Rather than detail the updates as I have in the past, I will for now leave this at simply announcing the update and pointing you to Adobe's several resources with more on the updates. The first 3 are community resources (which point to the update technote and more) and where other folks have already started sharing feedback or observations about the update:

I will note that the first two Adobe community resources above do offer a bit more detail about some of the new/changed features than is discussed in the update technote.

Experience so far...

I can say that I have applied the update on multiple machines and different OS's, without any trouble during the update. I've also confirmed that the downloadable zip of package offers the updated packages indicated in the update technote (there have been recent occasions where the zip did NOT include the updated packages). I also applied the update via both the CF Admin and the "manual offline update" process described in the update technote (on a server that was indeed "offline"), without any trouble.

FWIW there have been only a couple of discussions of update issues today in the community resources above. See those for more on that and any others.

If I learn of any significant ramifications of this update, I may offer comments below, or an update to this post, or potentially even a new post.
