The UGTV site holds links to recordings from user group speakers all over the world (primarily on ColdFusion but also other Adobe topics. More on the intro page.) While it's offered as a free service by Charlie Arehart and carehart.org, anyone can add links using this easy form. If you're looking for downloadable recordings, see the note at bottom here.

ADVANCE WEBSITE SEARCH TECHNIQUES USING APACHE SOLR & GOOGLE CSE (View video, Show Description) The goal of this session is to explore what can be done with CFSearch but expand what can be done with Apache Solr where CFSearch leaves off. However both systems will never have the same level of searching options as Google Custom Search Engine can do.I will explore how to get an internal search up and running within ColdBox, then how to jump outside of the box and expand to Solr Search for advance searching and sort. And finally use the power searching capabilities of Google and how to overlay Google's CSE information with Apache Solr's real-time information.Basically taking search within Coldbox to the next level providing custom searching, sorting, and real-time data access.Several assumptions * you know how to setup a solr search * you have a public facing website that is indexed by google * you know how to get data into CFSearch or Solr Search Problems to solve - Google provides the best searching options however it will never be real-time enough to satisfy most needs. - By use of Apache Solr's JSON search engine - data can be spliced together providing the best of both worlds!" Advanced Transfer ORM Techniques (View video, Show Description) Transfer's main focus is to generate and manage the CFCs that represent the data in your application, and it provides a slew of capabilities that work with this aspect and provide you with some very powerful functionality. This talk will cover some of Transfer's 'extra' functionality above and beyond the basic Object Relational Mapping aspects, including: Caching: Transfer has a caching layer that is intergrated with it that can provide significant performance gains. How and why to configure it's different options, and how to use the various cache related methods will be covered. Observable Events: Transfer provides a variety of Events that it fires when certain operations are performed. By utilising these events, other CFCs in a system can be notified of changes, TransferObjects can be manipulated, and so much more. Decorators: If extending the functionality of generic TransferObjects is needed, Decorators are the answer, but there are all sorts of interesting ways to use them. Transfer Query Language: An easier way to write an application's Gateway SQL by leveraging the already built object configuration. Doing a SQL statement that joins three tables with one statement and six keywords? Yes Please! Look for this interface to improve over time...

...including categorizing (vital as more are added), perhaps using Flex or Ajax. Additionally, I'd like to offer the option to capture more details about each presentation as well as to add a mechanism for viewers to share comments with each other on each presentation.

About "no description"

If there's "no description available", it's just that the submitter didn't offer one. It could be that there simply was none they could offer, or they didn't know where to find one. I don't want to hamper people submitting presentations by forcing them to come up with descriptions. The field is there if they have one to offer. In the future, I'll enable a mechanism for folks to offer comments on each presentation, and from those I would gladly update the description (or allow the submitter to).

Are you looking for downloadable versions of these recordings? I'm afraid that's not something I can control for most of these recordings. TO be clear, this UGTV resource is just a repository of *links* to recordings (which can be posted by anyone at all). I do not host the *recordings*. I only offer a place to point to them in an organized fashion.
