FusionReactor 3.5 update announced

Note: This blog post is from 2009. Some content may be outdated--though not necessarily. Same with links and subsequent comments from myself or others. Corrections are welcome, in the comments. And I may revise the content as necessary.
Users of FusionReactor will want to know that today version 3.5 was released today. Among its changes are support for CF9, support for various newer operating systems, and some other modest enhancements.

For readers not familiar with FusionReactor, it's a server monitor (and more) for CF, Railo, OpenBD, and indeed any J2EE/Java EE server. I've written and spoken about it a lot. Here is the link to the category of my blog entries about it.

As for 3.5, here is what has been shared in an email to their customers. I wanted to pass it along to everyone:

I only purchased fusionreactor a few weeks (not version 3.5), I was planning to upgrade to CF9 soon. are you saying the version I have will not work with CF9? Will I have to purchased anything to upgrade? I did not take out any support, just the standard software. Thanks
Glyn, I just learned today that indeed one would need to upgrade to FR 3.5 for FR to work on CF9. I had thought it might just be support in the installer, but we could manually apply it. Turns out it's much more, so yes, folks wanting CF9 support will need to upgrade. And it seems it's not a free upgrade even for those on 3.0.1, unless they have that maintenance support agreement.

As for you, who bought 3.0.1 only recently, I would propose you contact [email protected] to ask about it. Many companies offer grandfathering of recent purchases, but I don't work for Intergral so can't anticipate their response.
For those customers who have purchased after August 1st 2009 - they will be able to upgrade to FR 3.5 for free - so you're good to go ahead and install FR 3.5 Glyn
Thanks for the reply. :)
PS that's good to know as you don't have to. I am sure everyone who purchased after that date will appreciate the free upgrade.
Yes, that's great news. Thanks so much for sharing, David.
