Java Integration

Many realize that ColdFusion (and other CFML engines) run atop of Java, meaning that CFML is compiled into JJava bytecode. But there's still more to it than that: it's also possible to integrate CFML and Java, and there's the power of deploying CFML on any J2EE server/servlet engine.

These possibilities for Java integration have existed for many years. The ability integrate Java from within CFML actually started with CF 4.51, before CF6 actually changed to run CF entirely atop Java. And the ability to deploy CF as a WAR/EAR came first in CF6, but was refined in CF 7. Other alternative CFML engines may offer still different/simpler means to do that sort of deployment.

The following resources explore these various possibilities.
